Feral Swine Control & Wildlife Habitat Workshop
On July 1st, the Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District and its partners will host a workshop in Cairo, Georgia, that explores methods and benefits of conserving habitats for Georgia’s Wildlife through control of invasive feral swine and habitat restoration programs.
Feral Hog Workshop
The partnering agencies will host the workshop and trapping demonstration on July 9, 2026 in Americus, Ga at the Sumter County Ag Center located at 127 William Bowen Pointe, Americus, Ga. The workshop will be from 5:00pm-8:30pm with dinner provided. This workshop is sponsored by Golden Triangle RC&D Council.
Feral Swine Workshop
DeKalb County Soil and Water Conservation District has partnered with the City of Stonecrest to offer a free Feral Hog Control Educational Workshop open to the public on Tuesday, June 2 at 5:30pm at Stonecrest City Hall Annex Room at 3120 Stonecrest Blvd., Stonecrest, GA 30038. Join us to hear from experts with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Division, the University of Georgia, US Department of Agriculture and more on how detrimental feral hogs are to our native wildlife’s habitat and food resources. Feral hogs have become an increasing problem in DeKalb County, particularly in the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area. The event is free, but pre-registration is required. Space is limited. The Comprehensive Approach to Feral Hog Management
Join Aaron Sumrall, PhD, Director of Outreach, Education & Research at Pig Brig Trap Systems, for a practical, science-backed discussion on managing feral hog populations. Dr. Sumrall will walk through adaptive management strategies—what works, what doesn’t, and how to tailor your approach to your land, time, and goals.

The Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District, in partnership with UGA Cooperative Extension, UGA Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, and USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service will offer a FREE informational workshop on feral swine at the Grady County Ag Center. Topics include feral swine behavior, biology, and removal best practices. Lunch will be provided. Registration is required.
